First stages of the Addition/Remodel

These are the pictures covering the first stages of our project. They start with the garage removel and go to a pored foundation without the slab yet

I hired 4 guys from Casa Latina to help with the garage demo. They were great! In a day we were able to take down the whole garage, make 2 dump runs, and get half the nails out of the wood I wanted to save.
The foundation guys have been doing a good job getting the forms all set up. They are a little slow; seems like they have too many jobs going on at once, but when they are working at our house things usually get done fairly quickly. To get this far, ready for the first cement pour, took 3 weeks.
The actual cement pour happened on 9/10. We had a small pumper truck come in and two cement trucks. Richard is the one who held the end of the hose all morning filling the forms. They first filled just the footings, waited a while for the cement to set a little, and then filled the walls.
Cora was playing cement work with Morgan after they got tired of watching the real work.
The cement forms have been stripped, drains put in, and back filled. We had a little extra dirt so it looks like we will be able to bring up the garage slab a little.
Morgan and Cora loved getting a chance to sit in the skid stearer
