Notice of Race

1.       Organizing Authority: Peter & Paisley

2.       Headquarters: The official Regatta Headquarters shall be Peter’s parents’ house at 9276 NE Meigs Rd, Bainbridge Island, WA

3.       Rules: The regatta shall be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the Vanguard 15 Class Rules, and the Notice of Race unless modified by the Sailing Instructions.

4.       Eligibility: Open to all Vanguard 15 Class yachts.

5.       Entry: Entry Forms shall be received by 09:30 Saturday June 27th.  The entry fee for racing $0.

6.       Racing Format: Racing will be done in two fleets (A & B).  Boats will be switched between A and B fleet sailors.  This will be similar to a Collegiate Regatta format will a few modifications.  You will be sharing boats with other sailors.

7.       Schedule

 

Friday June 26th - Registration

1700- 2000 hours, Registration at Regatta Headquarters.

 

Saturday June 27th –Registration & Racing

0830-0930 hours: Registration at Port Madison Yacht Club, PMYC–

8478 NE Hidden Cove Rd, Bainbridge Is, WA 98110

0930 hours: Competitors briefing, PMYC

1045 hours: Warning, first race. Additional races to follow.

Approximately 1230, Lunch (provided)

After racing: Beer, dinner, announcements for Sunday racing @ Peter’s parents house, regatta headquarters.

 

Sunday June 28th  –Racing

0900 hours: Competitors briefing ashore, PMYC

0945 hours: Warning, first race.  No race will be started after 3 pm regardless of the number of races completed.

After or during racing, Lunch (provided), extra beer, Awards, etc.

 

8.       Sailing Instructions: Shall be available at Competitors briefings

9.       Racing Area and Courses: Racing will take place in Port Madison in the immediate area of Peter’s parents’ house.  If the wind allows, racing will be done in the inner harbor.  If the wind is light, courses might be set up at the mouth of the inner harbor, in greater Port Madison.  Courses used will consist of Triangle, Windward/Leeward, Trapezoid and/or any combinations thereof.

10.    Scoring: The Low Point Scoring System of the Racing Rules of Sailing as described in Appendix A of the RRS shall apply.

11.    Prizes: Trophies shall be awarded using a combined score from both days. Other trophies may be presented at the discretion of the Organizing Authority

12.    Housing: All competitors shall make their own housing arrangements.

13.    Boat Storage: – at PMYC or in front of Regatta Headquarters on the beach by the dock.

RELEASE

For and in consideration of the acceptance by Peter and Paisley of my entry in this regatta, I hereby accept all the risks and responsibilities of my participation in said regatta and waive to the fullest extent by law any and all claims I may have against Peter and Paisley, all event sponsors, and members of any committees arising out of or in any way connected with such participation. I agree to abide by the Sailing Instructions of this regatta, the Racing Rules of Sailing, the Rules of the International Sailing Federation, and the Vanguard 15 Class Rules. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release and waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law and that if any portion, clause or sub clause hereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full and legal effect.
